GANDHI JAYANTI ( 1st October 2024)

Class: PRE-PRIMARY

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on October 1 in the school to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. Our school observed this significant day with great enthusiasm and reverence.

The day began with a special assembly, where students and teachers gathered to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and students were dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi.

The student choir sang devotional songs and patriotic hymns. In Pre-Primary ,Pre-School and Pre-Nursery classes, students spoke a few sentences and also coloured the picture of charkha.

4 HAND WASHING( 15th October 2024)

Class: PRE-PRIMARY

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION-

To educate students on the importance of hand hygiene, promoting healthy habits and disease prevention, Pre-primary students participated in an interactive handwashing activity, demonstrating proper handwashing techniques using soap and water. Students learned when and how to wash hands effectively.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

Students were able to-

1. Understand importance of hand hygiene.
2. Learn proper hand washing techniques.
3. Develop healthy habits.
4. Recognize situations requiring hand washing (before meals, after using restroom, etc.).
5. Enhance awareness of disease prevention.

5 DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION( 10th October 2024)

Class: PRE-PRIMARY

The students of Pre-Primary department celebrated Dussehra, the triumph of good over evil, with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event aimed to instill cultural values and spiritual awareness among students.

Students were dressed up in partywear dresses.

In Pre-Primary ,Pre-School and Pre-Nursery classes, students spoke a few sentences on Dussehra, coloured the picture of mace and also decorated the crown of Ravan ( craft).

4 Clay Modelling ( 15th October 2024)

Class: Pre-School

The clay modelling session successfully promoted cognitive development, creativity, and fine motor skills among Pre-School students.

Activity Description

Pre-school students participated in a clay modelling session where they created numbers and letters using clay. The activity aimed to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity.

Learning Outcomes

Students were able to

4 Water has no shape ( 14th October 2024)

Class: Pre-School

The "Water Has No Shape" activity successfully introduced pre-school students to fundamental scientific concepts, fostering curiosity and exploration skills.

Activity Description

Pre-school students participated in an engaging science experiment "Water Has No Shape," where they observed and explored the properties of water. Students filled various containers with water, observing how it takes the shape of its container.

Learning Outcomes

Students were able to :-

1. Understand the concept of liquids and their properties.
2. Develop scientific curiosity and exploration skills.
3. Enhance observation and critical thinking.

4 No Bag Day ( 26th September 2024)

Class: PRE-PRIMARY

The following activities were carried out during NO BAG DAY in Pre-Primary classes.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION-

1. ACTIVITY- MAGNET ATTRACTS IRON

Students used magnets to explore and verify that magnets attract iron. They observed and recorded the attraction between magnets and various objects, including iron and non-iron materials.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

1. Understanding of magnetic properties.
2. Familiarity with scientific experimentation and observation.
3. Development of critical thinking and analytical skills.

2. ACTIVITY- AIM THE GOAL

Students participated in a fun and interactive "Aim the Goal" activity in which they attempted to put a ball into a ring. This activity tested their hand-eye coordination, precision, and teamwork skills.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

1. Development of hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
2. Encouragement of teamwork and collaboration.
3. Improvement in problem-solving and strategic thinking.

3. ACTIVITY- COLOURING

Students participated in a colouring activity in which they coloured the picture of a bird and clouds. They used various colours to bring the image to life.

Class: Pre-School

The learners of Pre-School classes observed 26.9.2024 as ‘No Bag Day’ . The day was planned with numerous multi-disciplinary activities for the learners to experience.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION-

1. Sponge Squeezing- Students participated in a hands-on Sponge Squeezing activity, exploring water absorption and release.
2. Speaking Lines on "My School" Students spoke a few sentences on the topic "My School", expressing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
3. Making a Paper Duck Students created a paper duck using paper folding techniques, developing their fine motor skills and creativity.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

Through the activities, the learners were able to –

3. Enhance confidence and self-expression.

6 Pink Colour Day ( 21st September 2024)

The Pink Colour Day activity successfully introduced Pre-School students to the colour Pink, promoting creativity, colour recognition, and sensory experience.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION-

Students celebrated Pink Colour Day by bringing pink-coloured objects from home and speaking lines about them. They also engaged in creative activities like making pink-coloured flowers and took home Peppa Pig cut-outs.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

This activity achieved the following learning outcomes:

2. Development of vocabulary and communication skills

3 PAPER PUNCHING ( 23rd August 2024)

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION-

A paper punching activity was organized for Pre-Primary students to develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Students were given a sheet of paper with different shapes and a punching tool. They were instructed to punch out the shapes, following a sequence or pattern.
Students enthusiastically participated in the activity, demonstrating their ability to follow instructions and sequences. They carefully punched out the shapes, showcasing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

This activity achieved the following learning outcomes:

1. Developed fine motor skills through punching and manipulating the tool.
2. Enhanced hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

4 JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION (23rd August 2024)

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, the students celebrated Janmashtami with joy. They came dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha.
Special assembly was conducted wherein the students swayed to the tunes of traditional songs and also performed group dance.
The happy and excited students also participated enthusiastically in craft work. In Pre - Nursery children decorated flute and also pasted cotton in the cutout of mataki.
In Pre - School and Pre - Primary children decorated the cutout of flute and also pasted cotton in the cutout of matki.
The purpose of this celebration was to inculcate value of sharing and respect in the students.The day was a delightful divine journey for the students.

1 RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION (17th August 2024)

The festival of Raksha Bandhan not only celebrates the love and duty between brothers and sisters, it also has a social significance.
In Pre- Primary wing the children dressed up in traditional attire.They celebrated rakshabandhan with full zeal and endeavour that one associates with this auspicious festival .
Pre - Nursery and Pre-School students tied rakhi to the support staff members and also gave them gifts which they had bought for them. Students of Pre - Primary prepared snacks and served to the support staff members.
A craft activity was also conducted in which students decorated Rakhi.
The purpose of the this celebration was to inculcate value of sharing and respect in the students.

1 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION (13th August 2024)

The students celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 13.08.24 with great zeal and enthusiasm.On this day the classrooms were nicely decorated with tricolour flags and kites. Students came to school in white kurta pyjama with tricolour sash , wristband or dupatta.

A cultural programme was organised in which students
participated enthusiastically. Some students sang patriotic songs, some recited poems , some spoke a few sentences and some performed patriotic group dance.
In Pre-Nursery class tri colour hand printing was done in the drawing file and tricolour lotus flower craft was done by to the students .
In Pre-School classes and Pre-Primary classes the students did tearing and pasting in the kite with orange and green paper and tri colour heart craft was also done by the students.
The students enjoyed these activities very much and learnt about the significance of Independence Day and the Indian flag as well.

8 NEWSPAPER LETTER HUNT ACTIVITY (10th August 2024)

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION-

To develop alphabet recognition and observation skills through a fun and interactive method, ‘Newspaper Letter Hunt' activity was conducted in Pre-Primary classes.
The teacher called out letters of the alphabet, one at a time and students searched the newspaper for each letter and encircled it when found. Focus and attention to detail were also observed, as participants ensured accurate encircling of the letters.
The Newspaper Letter Hunt activity was a successful and engaging way to develop essential skills in alphabet recognition and observation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

Students were able to-

Recognize and identify uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
Develop observation skills through searching and locating specific letters.
Improve focus and attention to detail.

6 NO BAG DAY (8th August 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes observed the ‘No Bag Day’ for the month of August. The day was planned with numerous multi-disciplinary activities for learners to experience.

Activities’ Description –

1. Making a Tower Children were provided with a set of building blocks. They were encouraged to construct a tower by stacking the blocks one on top of the other. The activity focused on experimenting with different arrangements and block sizes to achieve stability and height.
2. Making a Triangle with Ice Cream Sticks Children were given ice cream sticks and instructed to create a triangle by arranging the sticks into the shape and gluing them together.
3. Children were engaged in an activity where they spoke about different vegetables and their characteristics. This involved describing the vegetables.

Learning Outcomes :-

Through the activities, the learners were able to –

1.Develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
2.Enhance Speaking skills.
3. Enhance their understanding of balance and structural integrity, as well as their creativity

8 HINDI NARRATION (6th August 2024)

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

To develop Hindi language skills, Hindi Story Narration activity was organized in Pre-Primary classes. Students were asked to narrate a Hindi story using props. Students showed enthusiasm and interest while narrating their stories. They used props like cutouts, puppets, flashcards, headgears etc. to enhance their performance.

The Hindi story narration activity was a success, with students demonstrating their language skills and confidence.

LEARNING OUTCOMES-

Students were able to-

1. Enhance their Hindi vocabulary.
2. Narrate Hindi story.
3. Enhance their pronunciation, intonation, and fluency in Hindi.

6 FRIENDSHIP DAY CELEBRATION (2nd August 2024)

Friendship Day brings us closer to our friends and spreads lots of happiness in life.
The teachers discussed what it is like to be someone’s friend and made them understand the bond that two friends share.After this, students of Pre-Primary and Pre-School spoke a few sentences about friendship. Activities were also organised for the students of each class. Students prepared beautiful friendship bands and also exchanged their bands with their best friend. Last but not the least they enjoyed dancing together.

6 Green Colour Day (12th July 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes whole-heartedly participated in activities during the celebration of ‘Green Colour Day’

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Understand the concept of colours and recognise them
Develop hand-eye coordination and motor skills
Enhance their speaking skills

Activity Description

The learners were introduced to the concept of green colour. They identified and recognised various objects from their daily life and around the classroom which were examples of green colour objects. A Nature Walk was organised for them where the learners visited the herbal garden that the school has and identified the colour green while relating it to leaves and plants. To extend this further and attach it with their understanding of the colour, the learners presented an object that they brought from their homes and spoke 5 sentences about that green-coloured object.

Art was integrated in the day’s celebration by the activity of leaf painting in their drawing files. To commemorate the day, the learners even took with them green coloured triangles as takeaway.

Learners Objectives

Dressed up in green coloured dress, the learners eloquently presented a few sentences each on a green coloured object that they had brought. They particularly loved the Nature Walk and were awe-struck seeing the natural surroundings around them. The creative experience of leaf painting enhanced their motor skills significantly.

Activity Description

The purpose of the ‘No Bag Day’ was to involve learners in immersive classroom experiences which go beyond notebooks and have learners build their own experiences from their surroundings. This week, the activities involved Balancing the Glasses (Kinesthetic Activity), Fork Painting (Art Integrated Activity) and Sentences on Myself (Oratory Activity).

Learners’ Involvement

Through all the activities, learners were highly engaged - be it the balancing activity which developed hand-eye coordination for learners along with strengthening their motor skills, or be it the fork painting activity which helped learners unleash their creativity. The learners enthusiastically presented their thoughts while they all spoke a few sentences each on ‘Myself’. The entire day weaved together fun and enjoyable learning experiences for the preschoolers.

3 Open the Lock (11th July 2024)

“Open the Lock” is a fun and engaging activity designed for preschoolers that combines problem-solving skills with fine motor development. In this activity, children were given a lock and variety of keys to explore and experiment with. The goal is for them to figure out which key opens the lock through trial and error.

Teacher demonstrated the activity in the class. After that she called the students one by one and told them to open the lock with the correct key. Students tried the keys to open the lock.

Learning Outcomes

Children developed their ability to think critically and solve problems as they figured out how to match keys to locks.
Improved motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
This activity taught children the value of patience and persistence as they may not find the right key on their first trial
Boosted a child’s confidence and sense of achievement

1 Hand Print Activity (10th July 2024)

In this week’s art-integrated activity with EVS, learners of Pre-School classes did hand-print activity and made A-for Alien.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Enhance their motor skills.
Strengthen their hand-eye coordination
Experiment with their creative skills

Activity Description

For this activity, each learner used paint and made Alien miniatures with hand-printing. The teacher introduced them to making the alien by hand-printing by showing a video. The learners saw how they can be creative in painting with their hands. The learners then tried out making Alien with paint.

Learners’ Involvement

All the learners were highly involved and engaged while they experimented with different colours and shapes to make alien. They let their creativity loose which unfolded in the most beautiful manner in colourful presentations in their art files.

In another art-integrated activity with Maths, learners of Pre-School classes took part in a Clay Modelling activity of making a circle.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Enhance their motor skills.
Strengthen their hand-eye coordination
Experiment with their creative skills.

Activity Description

For this activity, each learner used their box of clay. The teacher introduced them to the usage of clay by demonstrating by self and by showing a video. The learners saw how they can mould the clay with their hands. The learners then tried out making circle shape by using their clay dough.

Learners’ Involvement

All the learners were highly involved and engaged while they experimented with different forms of clay to make different shapes. They let their creativity loose which unfolded in the most beautiful manner in the 3D objects they created out of clay dough.

4 Fun With Origami (5th July 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes indulged themselves in another art-integrated activity by the name of 'Fun with Origami'.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Enhance their motor skills
Refine hand-eye coordination.
Develop their creative skills

Activity Description

ForEach learner was given colourful pieces of origami paper. To introduce them to the use of origami paper, the teacher demonstrated how to transform the paper into a 3D object by paper folding. The teacher also demonstrated how a joker face can be made using origami paper. The learners made colourful joker faces from origami paper.

Learners’ Involvement

All the learners were left intrigued and highly enthused when they experimented with different forms of paper folding to make the expressive joker’s face. They let their creativity loose which unfolded in the most beautiful manner in the 3D objects they created out of colourful papers.

6 Maze Chase Activity (3rd July 2024)

On July 3, 2024, a Maze Chase activity was organized for the preschoolers, designed to enhance their problem-solving skills and physical coordination.

Maze Chase is an interactive and engaging activity where preschoolers were given sheets with maze illustrations. Their task was to find and trace the correct path that the ants can take from two different starting points to reach their destination. This activity helped develop cognitive and fine motor skills in a fun and challenging way.The Maze Chase activity was a wonderful blend of fun and learning.

Learning Outcomes

The activity encouraged children to think critically and make decisions on the best path to take.
To develop motor skills and eye &hand coordination.
The activity taught children the value of patience and perseverance.
To boost the children’s confidence in their abilities

5 Watering the Plants (15th May 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes enthusiastically participated in ‘Watering the Plants’ activity as a part of their endeavour for environmental awareness and to start their efforts in active citizenship.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Develop understanding of their role in environmental upkeep
Enhance their speaking skills
Experiment with creative skills.

Activity Description

The learners were told about the importance of taking care of the environment. They together understood how they need food and water to grow, in a similar manner plants also need water and minerals to grow. For this, the learners were demonstrated the process of watering the plants, by neither over watering them nor neglecting them. Each learner then individually participated and tried out his / her hand at learning the skill.

Learners’ Involvement

By indulging in the activity, the learners enthusiastically played their role. They became mindful of how to treat plants and how regular watering to them is essential when rain is not frequent. Learners stayed energetic and curious while knowing all about their role in making the Earth and their surrounding environment greener again. The activity helped learners become more aware and responsible future citizens of the world.

3 Float and Sink Activity (7th May 2024)

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Identify concepts of Science in daily life
Enhance their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Develop their critical thinking skills

Activity Description

The activity was a clear example of experiential learning. To explain the concept of how different objects float or sink in water and how their mass and weight impact them, this simple experiment was conducted in the class. The teacher demonstrated the activity through a video on the smart board and also gave a demo with the material . The learners were asked to pour some water in a small bowl, and test the sink and float concept using different objects like paper, rubber ball, etc.

Learners’ Involvement

Learners did the activity in pairs with the material . They enthusiastically and actively participated in the activity. They were left amused with wonders of the sinking and floating abilities of objects in water. The activity also helped them understand the concept of mass of different objects.

8 Catch and Throw Activity (2nd May 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes engaged in an outdoor activity of the month when they took part in the ‘Catch and Throw Activity’.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Develop their motor skills.
Enhance their hand-eye coordination
Understand the importance of collaboration.

Activity Description

The learners experienced an outdoor activity when they took part in the ‘Catch and Throw Activity’. Utilising the play area well, the learners formed a large group, and actively played with a multi coloured ball. They devised ways to catch the ball in time, and throw it to a new fellow student in the group, each time. The whole class cheered every one whenever they caught the ball, or threw it to someone.

Learners’ Involvement

While engaging in this activity, the learners not only had a fun and interesting time, but also understood the basics of coordination, as they increased their collaboration with their peers. They gradually also found a grip on their hand eye coordination while gripping and throwing the ball. By the end of the activity the learners also experienced lessons of empathy and appreciation as they cheered for their peers and helped everyone to participate in the activity actively.

5 Zumba session (13th April 2024)

A fun filled Zumba session was organised in Pre Primary classes on Tuesday, 30th April’ 24 to develop gross motor skills as well to make the students enjoy this physical activity. The students did the exercises with the music. They enjoyed zumba session very much.

5 Fun With Origami (29th April 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes indulged themselves in another art-integrated activity by the name of 'Fun with Origami'.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to -

Enhance their motor skills.
Refine hand-eye coordination
Develop their creative skills.

Activity Description

The learners of Pre-School classes enthusiastically participated in the first special day during the celebration of ‘Red Colour Day’

Activity Description

The learners were introduced to the concept of red colour. They identified and recognised various objects from their daily life and around the classroom which were examples of red colour objects. This was done through presenting an object that they brought from their homes and spoke 5 lines about that red coloured object. Art was integrated in the day’s celebration by the activity of paper tearing and pasting in a large tomato drawn in their drawing files.

Learners’ Involvement

Donning red coloured dress, the learners eloquently presented a few lines each on a red coloured object that they had brought. They particularly loved tearing red coloured paper and pasting it themselves neatly in a tomato. This oratory experience enhanced their motor and cognitive learning experience significantly.

2 Cyber Club Activity (26th April 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes had their first experience of the world of computers as part of their ‘Cyber Club Activity’.

Learning Objectives

Through the activity, the learners were able to

Know about computers.
Understand the importance of using a computer.
Develop their creativity skills

Activity Description

The learners were introduced to the usage of computers. Through this first hand experience, learners got to know about various ways in which a computer is used. The teacher showed interactive videos on the smart board for students to know about different terms of a computer.

The activity was made even more memorable when the learners coloured a computer in their drawing file as shown by the teacher on the smart board.

Learners’ Involvement

Learners were left amazed and awed at the magic that computers can bring. They slowly identified the parts of computer and coloured an image of the computer neatly. Thus, some technical learning flowed their way in a fun and interesting manner.

2 No Bag Day (25th April 2024)

The learners of Pre-School classes observed the first ‘No Bag Day’ of the academic session. The day was designed with multiple activities being experienced by the learners.

Activity Description

The purpose of the ‘No Bag Day’ was to indulge learners in classroom experiences which do not rely on notebooks and have learners build their own experiences from the surroundings. This week, the activities involved Passing the Ball (Outdoor Activity), Parts of the Body (Speaking Activity), Parts of the Body (Puzzle), Cat Making (Art Integrated Activity). The topic ‘Parts of the Body’ was introduced by the teacher through audio visual aids using the class digital smart board.

Learners’ Involvement

Through all the four activities, learners were highly engaged - be it making the cat through paper tearing and pasting, or identifying the parts of the body through the puzzle. They absolutely enjoyed passing the ball activity and the speaking skills activity while sharing their knowledge and understanding of the parts of the body. The entire day weaved fun and enjoyable learning experiences for the pre-schoolers.

8 Earth Day Celebration (20th April 2024)

On 20th April , Earth Day was celebrated in Pre -Primary Department . Students were told about the importance of Mother Earth and ways to conserve it . Students of Pre Primary class spoke lines about how Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April . We should stop polluting it and plant more trees . All the students of the department were made headgears of Mother Earth

4 Sorting of Shapes (18th April 2024)

To enhance the knowledge of various shapes, the students of Pre-Primary classes did a fun activity sorting of shapes on Thursday, 18th April 2024. The students sorted the cutouts of different shapes and kept in the respective boxes. This activity helped in enhancing their knowledge about different shapes.

Activity Description

The learners dipped their right hands in water colour of their choice and marked an imprint of their hands in their respective drawing files. To support their understanding of a hand painted drawing, the teacher demonstrated a picture on the class smart board.

Learners’ Involvement

Learners were left enthused, engaged and highly energized with the activity. They embarked on a creative journey to mix colours and give careful attention to getting their imprint made. The activity proved to be an example of learning with fun.

NUMBER MATCHING WITH PAPER GLASSES ACTIVITY (4th April 2024)

All the students of pre- primary participated in the number matching with paper glasses activity held on Thursday, 04.04.2024.The students placed the glass on the same number which was written on the glass . Practice number matching with paper is a fun activity and help to learn numbers and counting. Students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Learning Outcomes

While doing this activity children will practice counting while learning numberrecognition and one to one correspondence. These skills are important to laying the foundation for higher math concepts.

4 Nurture the Nature- Watering the plants

Plants have life and they also need water, sunlight and soil to nurture and grow. Thus, an important life skill of watering the plants and see them bloom in the spring season was done in Pre-School classes on Thursday, 15th February 2024. The students were taken to the garden area and shown various plants and trees around them. They were also helped in watering the plants with the watering can. All in all, the students were delighted and excited to perform this activity and promised to take care of the plants in and around their homes.

In this activity children learnt the concept of heavy object sinks in the water and light object floats in the water. This activity was done practically in the class by using various objects such as stone ,leaf, paper, eraser and bangle. Children participated in this activity very enthusiastically. Through this activity the concept was very clear to them.

Students made Tulip flower with origami sheet and pasted in the drawing file and made its stem and leaves with crayons.

3 NO BAG DAY

All the students of Pre- Primary classes participated in NO BAG DAY activities held on Thursday ,23.11.23. The day was full of experiential learning activities like fun with shapes, word puzzle and computer. Students spoke a few sentences on the topic winter season. They enjoyed all the activities with great enthusiasm .

Learning outcomes: All these activities are fun loving, interactive and child centered. Students learnt word building through play way method.

3 Offline Orientation Programme 2024-25

Class – Pre-School

Saturday, 30 th March 2024

Gyan Mandir Public School gave a hearty welcome to the new and incoming batch of Pre-School for the session 2024-25 by organising the Orientation Programme in the school auditorium on 30 th March, 2024.

The Orientation Programme was graced by venerable Principal ma’am, Ms. Rajesh Bano Preeya and the proud parents of Pre-School students.

The program began by a soul enriching and colourful evocation of the senses through a Welcome Dance presented by the Pre-Primary students. Revered Principal ma’am enthused the parents with a stronger feeling of motivation and congratulated them on beginning this insightful learning journey of their child. Respected Primary Headmistress, Ms. Neeru Sachdeva took the parents on a virtual tour of the school, familiarising them with all the amenities and the salient features of the school.

The programme was adorned with foot tapping musical performances and awe striking solo enactments by the students of Pre-Primary classes. Be it the story enactment under ‘Kingdom Animalia’ or solo performance of story telling with puppets. or the high energy group dance performance, the introductory celebration became a spectacle when the new parents cheered the students and the auditorium reverberated with applause and pride of around 150 parents. Everyone in the audience was awe-stricken with the enthusiasm with which the students owned the stage and made it come alive.

The programme concluded with delivering of general guidelines by Ms. Kusum Sethi, Supervisor of Pre-Primary Department, and a formal introduction of the entire Pre-Primary department to the parents.

The parents then headed on to a more exclusive query solving session with their respective class teachers with respect to Microsoft Teams ,Parents Alarm and student and parent engagements in the academic year.

Graduation Ceremony

Tuesday, 5th March 2024

Gyan Mandir Public School organised a grand celebration of the Graduation Ceremony of Pre-Primary students, the Batch of 2023-24 on 5th March, 2024. The Graduation Ceremony was graced by honourable Chief Guest, Ms. Arti Girdhar, Founder and President, Anon Global Foundation, revered Secretary sir, Mr. M.S. Bhalla, venerable Principal ma’am, Ms. Rajesh Bano Preeya, esteemed Vice Principal ma’am, Ms. Babita Wason and the proud parents of Pre-Primary students.

The celebration comprised of cultural bonanza presented by the three classes of Pre-Primary culminating with each student getting a formal graduation sign off. The entire batch of Pre-Primary class enthusiastically participated in the section wise showcase. While the students of Pre-Primary Sunflower showcased the noteworthy qualities of famous Indian personalities, the students of Pre-Primary Lavender infused a celebratory spirit among the audience by showcasing different festivals of India. Lastly, the students of Pre-Primary Orchid knitted together a vibrant image of India and its different states and the rich culture that prevails in the country. The day long showcases were peppered with foot tapping musical performances. The celebration became a spectacle when the students’ parents cheered them and the auditorium reverberated with the cheer, applause and pride of around 200 parents.

They all were left spell bound with the confidence with which the students owned the stage and fluently presented their thoughts while playing their part in the showcase. Revered Chief Guest addressed the parents and urged them to nurture the potential of young learners. Venerable Principal ma’am congratulated the students of Pre-Primary for completing their joyous and meaningful first two years of school and motivated them to embark on this new journey with a resounding high spirit and the zeal of learning and continuous growing. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Kusum Sethi, Supervisor of Pre-Primary Department.

4 Tying the shoelace-February 2024

Shoe lace tying is an important skill which children need to develop. Keeping in mind the skill development of students of Pre -School class, an interesting and innovative activity of tying the shoe lace was conducted on Thursday, 8th February 2024. This activity helps the students in building fine motor skills and coordination to tie their shoelaces. They performed this activity really well along with the enhancement of fine motor skills.

6 Clay Modelling Activity- Make something creative-February 2024

Truly, as the name suggests, the clay modelling activity, held on Tuesday, 6th February 2024, enhanced the creative skills of the students of Pre -School class. They enthusiastically made innovative and unique pieces of art ranging from sun, grapes to fruit baskets. This activity not only enhanced their fine motor skills but also encouraged the young sculptors to be creative and develop spatial awareness.

6 Fun with shapes activity-Aakar Parivar-February 2024

To enhance the knowledge of various shapes, the students of Pre-School classes did a fun activity of making different objects with shapes like circle, square, triangle etc. on Saturday, 3rd February 2024. The creativity and imagination of the students were really worth seeing as they made interesting and innovative objects using the basic shapes. This activity helped in enhancing their gross motor skills as well as developing creativity and imagination among them.

STEM ACTIVITY

AIR IS REQUIRED FOR BURNING ACTIVITY-February 2024

All the students of Pre Primary classes participated in the stem activity on Thursday, 1.02.2024 to learn how air is required for burning. The teacher explained by burning two candles and covering one candle with the glass to show that if air doesn’t pass through the glass , candle automatically stops burning. On the other hand the candle which is not covered with the glass is still burning. Students understood that air is required for burning.

Students were able to understand that air is necessary for burning as it supplies oxygen which is required for combustion.

All the classes of Pre- Primary participated in role play activity of 'Our Helpers' held on Monday, 29.01.2024.Students depicted different roles of helpers who help us in our daily life. They spoke a few sentences on the role which they had presented. They participated enthusiastically and performed this activity mesmerizingly .

4 BROWN COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION - JANUARY 2024

Brown is the colour of wood and Earth. To introduce the colour ‘Brown’ to the students of Pre-School classes, Brown colour day was celebrated on Tuesday, 23rd January 2024. It was an enjoyable day as all children were dressed up in brown coloured clothes and they came to know about the brown coloured fruits, vegetables, birds and animals around us and also shades of Brown. The students showed various brown coloured objects like potato, teddy bear, coconut etc. and spoke about them. 4 EAR BUD PAINTING - 20.1.2024

In all the classes of Pre – Primary Ear bud painting was done in National flag. Children enjoyed this activity a lot. This fun filled activity kept all the children engaged.

On 18th January 2024 i.e. Thursday, the students of Pre- School class enjoyed a fun activity of zipping the jacket. This activity helped them enhance their fine motor skills as well as strengthen finger muscles. Children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and learnt a new skill .

All the students of pre- primary participated in the number game activity held on Saturday, 30.12.2023.They selected the correct number as guided by the teacher and placed on the magnetic board. Teachers taught what comes before, after and between through this activity. Students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

4 CHRISMAS CELEBRATION - DECEMBER '23

Christmas is for joy, for giving and sharing, for laughter, for coming together with family and friends. It is a good time to cheer, love, care, share, and spread warmth around. The students of the Pre-Primary wing celebrated the festival of peace and love on Friday, 22th December.

The wing and all the classes were decorated with star streamers, balloons , hangings and a beautiful Christmas tree.Students and teachers were dressed in red and white which are Santa’s favourite colours.The significance of the festival was explained to the students through the Christmas story.

In Pre-Primary and Pre-School classes students sang the carols and spoken few sentences on Christmas festival.Then they made a beautiful Christmas card . In Pre- Nursery class students decorated the Santa cap and coloured the Christmas tree.

last but not the least students also relished their favourite cakes and pastries which was indeed an icing on the top. At the end,all the students sang jingles and danced along to the joyful tunes. The teachers joined the students with the same enthusiasm, spreading the message of love and joy among the children.

6 FOX MAKING ACTIVITY

All the students of pre- primary participated in Fox making activity held on Tuesday, 12.12.2023.They made fox face with origami sheets .This activity was designed to bring out the inner artist and storyteller in every child, making learning a joyous and personalised experience. Students made their own origami fox while following all the instructions given step by step by the teacher. Students enjoyed making fox faces.

3 Colours are the smiles of nature

Rightly said that colours bring a smile on everyone’s face. Learning the mixing of colours helps children to develop creativity. They tend to explore and experiment with different colours in order to create a new colour. Most importantly, children come up with interesting colour combinations to get new colours for their artwork. Students of Pre-School classes did an interesting and colourful activity of mixing of colours on Tuesday, 5th December’2023. All the classes of pre- primary participated in Badge making activity held on Tuesday, 5.12.2023.Learners made badges on the topic “Mother Earth” and teachers elaborated the topic, how we have to save our earth by saving trees, water and electricity. Learners made badges with great enthusiasm .

Hurdle race was organized for the students of pre- primary classes on Thursday, 29.11.23. The objective of the race was to make children stay focused as there were various challenges for them to complete and develop kinaesthetic abilities. Children participated with great enthusiasm and will.

Learning outcomes: In kindergarten racing over low obstacles is an excellent form of motor activity.

Hurdle run is a test of speed, strength, coordination, flexibility and a lot of mental courage.

3 BIODEGRADABLE AND NON BIODEGRADABLE ACTIVITY

All the students of Pre-Primary classes participated in poster making activity on the topic biodegradable and non biodegradable on Friday, 24.11.23. They prepared a poster after understanding the concept that biodegradable materials are substances that can be decomposed or broken down by microorganisms. They generally include leftover food, kitchen waste, dried leaves , paper, etc.

Non biodegradable materials are substances that cannot be decomposed or broken down by microorganisms rather leading to pollution. They are like plastic bags, cans, bottles, metals etc. Students enjoyed making poster on this topic. They used different colours to beautify their poster.

Learning outcomes: Students learnt that non biodegradable materials cause various types of pollution and diseases to plants and animals.

All the classes of Pre-Primary participated in Show and Tell activity held on Monday, 20.11.2023. Learners spoke a few sentences on the topic ‘ transport'. They used various cut outs and headgears to present the mode of transportation. They spoke with great enthusiasm and zeal.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Show and tell activity provided opportunities for both fun and learning. Students were able to identify different modes of transport and the vehicle used for each mode.

Classes of Pre- Primary participated in ‘My Country and National symbols’ activity conducted on Monday, 30.10.2023. Learners spoke a few sentences on National symbols of India categorised as national flag, national emblem, national bird, national animal, national fruit etc. They participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Learning outcomes: Learners learnt that national symbols are an important part of India’s identity. They also learnt the significance of National symbols.

4 BLUE COLOUR DAY

The students of Pre-School class celebrated Blue Colour Day on Saturday, 14 th October’2023. Excitement and enthusiasm was visible everywhere. All the children came dressed up in different shades and hues of blue. The classrooms were decorated with various blue coloured objects and children were introduced to different shades of blue. The significance of blue colour was reiterated through a series of activities.

Clad in blue dresses, students were made to recognize blue colour through play-way activities. An array of blue coloured objects like umbrella, ball, cloud, flowers etc. were put on display board, thus providing the students opportunities to have a clear sense of the colour and its importance.

The little learners made a blue whale through earbud painting and a took a shining blue star as takeaway for the day. It was a indeed pleasant and a cool blue day for the tiny tots.

6 HAND WASHING DAY

One of the most important ways where children in schools can stay healthy is by keeping their hands clean through out the day. Keeping this in mind hand wash activity was organized on Saturday, 14.10.2023. To promote hand hygiene can result in less gastrointestinal illness. That’s why it’s important to encourage cleaning hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. Students eagerly participated in this activity and learnt the importance of washing hands. The hand washing instructions were given to them which each pupil observed and followed.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: students learnt that they must practice hand washing after using the toilet or before eating food.

An interesting and engaging activity of tracing of various numbers on Flour was done in the Pre School classes on 4 th October’2023. Plastic pollution is affecting the whole earth, including mankind, and aquatic life. With an objective to make everyone realize the harmful impact it has in our lives, this activity was organised on Tuesday, 03.10.2023. Students prepared paper bags and pasted slogan “ Say No to plastic Bags” on them. Learners enjoyed the activity.

3 CLAY MODELLING ACTIVITY

Clay is a substance that can be moulded into an endless number of forms. Clay modelling is one way to develop fine motor skills. It not only helps in developing pre -writing skills but also smoothens wrist and finger muscles preparing the young learners for the formal writing process. It also enhances eye hand coordination and encourages play based learning. Hence, a clay modelling activity was done in Pre- School classes on Tuesday, 29th September’23 to improve the knowledge of alphabet in students. 3 NO BAG DAY

On Wednesday, 27th September’23 students of Pre- School classes came to school only with their lunch and fruit box in their bags. The day was devoted to practical and experiential learning, where kids were engaged in various physical as well as mental activities. The day started with a flurry of physical activities in the activity zone which helped the young enthusiasts to strengthen their muscles and enhance fine as well as gross motor skills. Next, the students spoke few lines on Gandhi Jayanti and did colouring in a Charkha to celebrate the national festival. The day ended with the students making a tower with different coloured building blocks thereby improving their concentration level and enhancing their cognitive skills. 3 PINK COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

The students of Pre-School celebrated Pink Day on Thursday, 21St September’23. It was wonderful to see our children blooming and blossoming in different shades of pink.

The young ones came dressed in pink and brought various pink coloured objects. Many pink objects were displayed in the class and children were introduced to different shades of pink. The tiny tots participated in variety of hands on activities related to the identification of pink colour. Hand painting of Jelly Fish was done and its takeaway was given to the students. The aim of the activity was to make the young one’s identify various pink coloured objects they see around them and enhance their fine motor skills.

Rhymes play an important role in the life of kids. All the classes of Pre-Primary department participated in Hindi recitation held on 8.8.23, Tuesday. Learners recited Hindi rhymes using cut -outs, headgears and props.

Learners participated with lots of enthusiasm. They recited their favourite rhyme with actions and voice modulation.

Learning outcomes: Recitation of rhymes boosted vocabulary and oratory skillsof learners.

It enabled the learners to become interested in the rhythm and patterns of language.

3 MAGNET ATTRACTS IRON

PRE-PRIMARY

In this activity, learners learnt the concept that magnet has the quality of attracting iron and iron made products. For example, pins, iron nail, coins etc. This activity gave hands on experience to students in the class as they used various objects like plastic toys, erasers and handkerchief to know the importance of magnetic properties.

Learners enthusiastically participated in this activity and concretised this new concept through practical demonstration.

Learning Outcomes – Learners were able to understand that magnet has the power to attract iron products only.

Rhymes can prove to be an instrumental stepping stone for young children to develop their verbal skills and boost their confidence.

Keeping this in mind, English Rhyme Recitation Activity for Class Pre-School was organized on Saturday, 19th August’2023 in which the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The children chose variety of rhymes for the recitation like Johnny Johnny, Chubby Cheeks, My Ball etc. They recited the rhymes with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.The main purpose behind conducting such activity is to build self-confidence, develop oratory skills and self-expression in students. All the classes of Pre Primary Participated in Jungle Safari activity. Learners selected their favourite forest animal and presented it through cut outs, head gears and pictures as props to share with the class on Tuesday 22. 08.23 . This activity gave chance to learners to be the centre of attention of the class as he or she spoke a few lines about their favourite animal. All the students participated actively and confidently in the activity.

LEARNING OUTCOMES : The jungle safari activity helped the students to foster their linguistic and speaking skills.

On Saturday, 26th August 2023, Orange Colour Day was celebrated in Pre- School classes with great zeal and zest. The classrooms were beautifully decorated with orange coloured objects. The children did many interesting classroom activities using the colour orange as a theme and learnt interesting facts about it.

Our tiny tots were dressed in shades of vibrant orange colour. They were asked to bring orange coloured objects for a ‘Show and Tell’ activity. They brought many objects like orange ball, orange, marigold, orange toys and many other orange coloured things. The children spoke wonderful things in “Show and Tell” related to this colour. Students were given a thorough understanding of the colour orange through different activities like thumb printing in orange, show and tell etc. The students left happily with a takeaway of orange(made of paper) with them.

All the classes of Pre- Primary participated in collage making activity conducted on Thursday,31.08.2023.Children learnt about nutrition found in vegetables by making a colourful vegetable collage. The hands on fun art activity centred around importance of nutrition.

Learning outcomes: Children learnt that the more colourful our meals are, the more healthy they usually are because they consist of many nutrients.

The decision of the school to declare second and fourth Thursday of every month as ‘No Bag Day’ is a landmark step towards easing the burden of the bag for the students. As a matter of fact, education should be a fun filled and enjoyable activity, especially for the students in the elementary classes. Keeping this in mind, the students of Pre- School classes enjoyed the first No Bag Day on Thursday, 24th August’23.

The day kick started with a fun filled visit to the playstation where the kids enjoyed playing on the swings very much. Next, they had an energetic aerobics session which refreshed them. It was followed by a fun filled activity of ‘tying the shoelace’ where students learnt how to tie knots enhancing their fine motor skills and improving eye-hand coordination. Lastly, they had fun with numbers game which helped in the development of gross motor skills as well as improved their numerical abilities. Some glimpses of the day are shown below.

Rangoli making has a significant role to play in the development of gross motor, fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills of the students. Keeping this objective in view, Pre-school classes had a fun activity of Rangoli making in the school courtyard on Monday, 24 th July’23 . The students enjoyed this activity very much and learnt about different flowers as well.

3 GREEN COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

Green colour symbolises nature and prosperity. Think of nature and you see green in all its glory expressing renewal and life. Keeping these thoughts in mind, we, at Gyan Mandir Public School celebrated, Green Colour Day in Online mode on Saturday, 15 th July,2023. The students were brightly dressed up in all hues of green and enthusiastically spoke a few sentences on their favourite green coloured objects. A nature walk was also conducted on 19 th July,2023. The students were taken to different parts of the school and various plants and trees were shown to them. ‘Save Trees ,Save Earth’ was the message conveyed to them through this engaging Science activity.

3 LADY FINGER PRINTING IN PEAR

A fun filled art integrated activity to enhance fine motor coordination of the students was conducted on 27 th July,2023. Lady finger printing in a pear was a unique way to develop the cognitive skills of the children. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and learnt the benefits of eating green vegetables and fruits in daily life.

Games and sports are an integral part of students’ life. Now a days sports and games are taken to be a good career option. Students of Pre Primary participated enthusiastically in fruit race, an outdoor activity held on 13 July 2023 . Nurturing children’s abilities at this stage is vital. Their ability to grasp the concepts and learn new things is remarkable. Children learn through these activities which give them practical experience. They learn the names of different fruits through this activity which develops self- confidence. It also helps the students to shine in sports career. Learning through outdoor activity gives permanent knowledge and a source of enjoyment.

Learning outcome:It taught students discipline and teamwork. It was also helpful to be more active. Students experienced a good quality of breathing.

Summer splash pool activity was conducted in Pre – Primary department on 18 th and 19 th May. Students were dressed up in colourful swimsuits and adorned bright swimming caps. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and splashed water happily . All in all, it was a joyous and memorable experience for one and all.

All the classes of Pre-Primary Department participated in Fancy Dress activity held on Saturday, 22 nd July 2023. Learners were dressed up creatively with head gears and innovative costumes. They used banners and props related to the theme of the event - ‘Our Universe'.

Learners were seen participating with utmost enthusiasm and displayed confidence while speaking apart from having fun in their assigned roles.

Learning Outcomes:The activity proved to be a great learning experience for learners. It also provided them a platform to explore and showcase their hidden talents.

4 Yellow Colour Day

Yellow Day was celebrated on , Tuesday , 9th May. The motive of celebrating yellow day was to make the students aware of the colour yellow, its significance and to develop the fine motor skills in the students.
The day began with fun filled activities related to the colour yellow. Students were all dressed up in different shades of yellow colour. It was indeed a visual treat to see the impact of the yellow colour on our little angels speaking a few sentences on their favourite yellow coloured items. All the students of Pre School were excited while doing the craft activity of tearing and pasting in a mango which was arranged for them by the class teachers. They also enjoyed the colouring activity in the sun very much.
It was an amazing learning experience which had a long-lasting effect on each student. All the students were happy and enjoyed to the fullest wearing a wrist band with smileys on it.

Fun filled movie show was organised on 10th May,2023 at PVR , Students enjoyed 2D movie along with Pepsi and Popcorn. They have learned to adjust in the new environment and have mingled well with their peer group .

4 STEM Activity

In all the Pre-School classes STEM activity “Squeezing A Sponge” was conducted on 16th May 2023. The students were provided with a piece of sponge and a bowl of water. It was followed by a demo of the activity by the teacher in which she showed the way of squeezing a sponge. Students were also explained the concept of light/heavy and wet/dry while giving the demo. After the teacher’s demo, each child got the chance to do the activity and experience the difference between wet/dry & light/heavy. The students were very excited while doing this activity. This activity helped them to enhance their fine motor & observation skills.

4 Fruit Chaat Party

Fruit chaat party was organised on 17th May for Pre- School classes. Some students wore head gears of the nutritious fruits. Teachers briefed about the importance of eating fruits for a healthy life.
Students brought different fruits like diced apple, mango, banana etc. They got familiar with various fruits and their importance. The main aim of this activity was to inculcate healthy eating habits in the students while enjoying a variety of fruits.
Students enjoyed the fruit chaat party a lot.

6 Story Narration

Storytelling is an art of narrating or unfolding the narratives of a story.
Story narration was done on 15th May in Pre-Primary classes. Storytelling is a unique way for students to develop an understanding. The tiny tots participated actively and enthusiastically narrating their favourite stories with props and actions. The main objective of the event was to build up the confidence in the children to stand in front of the class and tell a story. It improves the speaking and listening skills of the kids and enhances their creativity skill. The students enjoyed the story narration.

To acquaint the students with the 26 letters of English Alphabet an interesting game was organised for the students of Pre-primary class where in students were shown the figures of small cursive letters and they were asked to jump on them to enhance their understanding and knowledge of 26 letters of the English alphabet.

The Pre-Primary had planned and executed an event ‘Jungle Safari’ to acquaint the young leaners with different animals. The event was all about wearing the headgears of their favourite animals and introducing them to the vast world of fauna within the school premises.They exhibited their understanding about living beings,their care and concern. This event helped the kids enhance their language skills, social skills and emotional skills.Children thoroughly enjoyed this fun filled activity and learnt many interesting facts about the animal kingdom.

2 Our Sense Organs

Our five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch help us to perceive the world in which we live. They help us to understand, comprehend and interact with the environment and different species and to make the students aware of their sense organs, Gyanodians of Pre-Primary classes participated in an activity which relates to the five sense organs present in our body. Young Gyanodians were able to acknowledge the importance of sense organs in our bodies and their uses. It was truly fruitful for all the Gyanodians as it not only strengthened their biological knowledge but also speaking skills ,as young learners spoke a few lines also on each sense organ.

6 Things We Get From Plants

Plants and trees provide clean air, water, and food to us. Its greenery and freshness also act as a stress reliever for us.To enable the young learners of Pre-Primary classes to understand the importance of plants and to instil the awareness of the things that we get from them, students were asked to bring pictures of the things which we get from plants and were guided to paste the same on the ‘Tree-Chart’ made by the teacher. This activity proved a milestone in making the students aware towards the environment.

5 Vegetable Painting

Children acquire a variety of knowledge through painting activities. Painting is a way for children to convey their ideas, express emotions, use their senses and explore. The young learners of Gyan Mandir Public School expressed their ideas and developed their fine motor skills through vegetable printing activity. They dipped lady’s finger in water colour and printed those on the flowers given in the books. Importance of eating green vegetables for leading a healthy life was also discussed. This activity made the students creative and developed their fine motor skills also.
